3rd National Congress
SIOMI
Italian Society of Homeopathy
And Integrated Medicine
COMPLEXITY
IN MEDICINE
Florence, Convitto della Calza
March 5th – 6th – 7th, 2004
The 3rd SIOMI National Congress provides a meeting place
for physicians from different cultural backgrounds but equally committed to
progress in medical thought. The title of the congress is intentionally
ambitious. It derives from the need to reconsider some aspects of the medical
profession in view of the current evolution in scientific thought. The event
will involve 7 different thematic sessions to:
· outline the
professional dimension of physicians and chemists, experts in complementary
medicines;
·
present
some important news on scientific research in our field;
·
initiate
a dialogue on the possibilities and limitations of EBM and the need to provide
a platform for the daily experience of physicians, experts in complementary
medicine. A “friendly” challenge to launch a new form of medicine;
· compare the
conditions of complementary medicines in Italy and in Europe, as well as the
possibility of achieving an integrated medical culture in each nation;
· communicate and
compare daily experiences in order to identify the criteria that can be shared
with scientific research and clinical auditing.
Finally, some reflections will be made on the complexity of man,
medicine and science today.
This is one challenge which moves us to enthusiasm: we are betting
that the cultural patrimony of Homeopathy and Anthroposophy, well protected and
developed, will be able to offer, tomorrow even more so than today, more
efficient therapeutic responses to the health needs of all individuals.
